Zoe Burke is the author of the Nature Discovery Book series (PomegranateKids), featuring art by Charley Harper. When she was a little girl, her grandmother used to write letters to her that rhymed, and Zoe has loved making children's poems ever since. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband.

Charley Harper (1922-2007) grew up on a farm in West Virginia. He always loved nature, and he always loved to draw. Charley went to art school in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he studied all sorts of styles of art. He came up with his own way of making pictures, using simple shapes and solid colors.
